Uncertified Home Care Attendant

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority’s Uncertified Home Care Attendant training program is a four-week, paid training opportunity aimed at opening doors to a meaningful career in home care.

Over the course of this full-time program, participants engage in classroom learning and hands-on instruction for the first two weeks, followed by a practicum in the community during the final two weeks, working alongside experienced attendants. Students learn essential skills, including safe client transfers and handling, fall prevention, maintaining hygiene and sanitary environments, meal preparation, communication, and preserving dignity in care.

The program offers a competitive wage during training, and upon successful completion, graduates are prepared to begin a stable and fulfilling career in home care with opportunities to continue their education including becoming a certified Health Care Aide in the future.
