We are committed to creating workplaces where Indigenous knowledge, languages, cultures, and leadership are respected, valued, and supported. Whether you are beginning your career, returning to the workforce, or advancing professionally, we strive to provide culturally safe supports, career opportunities, and training that honour Indigenous ways of knowing and being.
First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples make up approximately 18 per cent of Manitoba’s population and, due to the ongoing impacts of colonization, often experience disproportionate health challenges and barriers when accessing care. Growing and supporting an Indigenous workforce is essential to delivering culturally safe, responsive, and equitable health services across Manitoba.
Indigenous employees bring vital perspectives, lived experience, and cultural knowledge that strengthen the healthcare system, help break down barriers, and improve care for Indigenous patients, families, and communities. Fostering inclusive, supportive, and anti-racist workplaces is fundamental to increasing Indigenous representation and ensuring Indigenous staff feel respected, supported, and empowered to thrive.
Our commitment includes:
Distinctions-based hiring for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples
Cultural safety and anti-racism training for all staff
Mentorship opportunities and access to Elders and Knowledge Keepers
We recruit for a wide range of roles across Manitoba — from clinical and public health positions to administration, communications, and operations. Example positions include, Indigenous Discharge Planners, Indigenous Patient Advocates and Interpreters, Indigenous Workforce Coordinator, Indigenous HR Officer, and Elder / Knowledge Keeper / Spiritual Care positions at major sites/hospitals.
