Qualifications
For physicians trained in Canada, the following qualifications define eligibility for a rural emergency department locum position:
- CCFP(EM) – Certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada in Emergency Medicine (Certificate of Added Competence in Emergency Medicine) .
- FRCP(EM) – Fellowship with the Royal College of Physicians of Canada in Emergency Medicine (i.e. Royal College specialist certification in Emergency Medicine) .
- CCFP (or equivalent) – General practitioners with proven capability in independent emergency care in resource-limited settings.
