In Manitoba, Emergency Medical Responders (EMRs) are trained healthcare professionals who provide immediate, life-saving care in emergency situations. As the first point of contact in many medical emergencies, EMRs work alongside trained paramedics, performing essential tasks such as patient assessment, trauma management, and monitoring vital signs to support stabilization of individuals. To practice, they must complete an accredited EMR program and be certified through the College of Paramedics of Manitoba, ensuring they meet the standards required for safe and effective pre-hospital care.
