In the Prairie Mountain Heath (PMH) region, our mission is to promote and improve health through quality, client-centred health care.
The Prairie Mountain Health region has a population of 168,876, representing 12.9 per cent of Manitoba. It is made up of 58 municipalities, which include the cities of Brandon and Dauphin. Prairie Mountain Health facilities are located on Treaty 1, 2, and 4 Territories, the original lands of the Dakota, Anishinaabe, Cree, Oji-Cree, and the National Homeland of the Red River Métis.

Lifestyle
The Prairie Mountain Health region is an eclectic blend of nature, recreational activities, geography and strong community. It features many of the province’s nicest bike and hiking trails, golf courses, crystal clear lakes and rivers with several different species of trophy-sized fish, as well as Riding Mountain National Park for some of the province’s best camping locations.
Renowned winter skiing, snowshoe and snowmobile trails also make for epic cycle, hiking and ATV trails in the summer. There truly is something for everyone within the Prairie Mountain Health Region.

It’s an exciting time to join the health system with a number of investments in health care happening right here in Prairie Mountain Health to meet the needs of our communities:
- Construction to expand and renovate clinical spaces within the Brandon Regional Health Centre, including a new 16-bed intensive care unit, approximately 30 additional beds and more.
- A renovation and expansion of the Western Manitoba Cancer Care Centre including additional exam rooms and treatment spaces and space for the Paul Albrechtsen Centre for Hope for counselling and recovery patients.
- A new hospital in Neepawa featuring 60 acute care inpatient beds, an expanded emergency department, a new hemodialysis unit and more.
