Licensing and Professional Resources

College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba

The College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba is the regulatory body for occupational therapists in Manitoba. Registration with the COTM is a requirement to practice in Manitoba.

In order to register with the COTM, you must pass the National Occupational Therapy Certification Examination (NOTCE). To be eligible to write the exam, you must have graduated from an accredited Canadian occupational therapy program or have your credentials reviewed by the Association of Canadian Occupational Therapy Regulatory Organizations (ACOTRO).

Professional Associations

Occupational therapists in Manitoba are represented by two professional associations – provincially by the Manitoba Society of Occupational Therapists and nationally by the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists. These organizations act as a voice for occupational therapists and support the profession through advocacy, education, and research.
