Role in Manitoba’s Health System

Paramedics provide emergent and non-emergent medical care to patients in out-of-hospital, inter-hospital, and community settings. They also play a key role in Shared Health’s inter-professional Emergency Response Services team and are vital to the safe transport (by air and by land) of patients to (and between) facilities.

There are five different paramedic practice levels in Manitoba: Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Primary Care Paramedic (PCP), Intermediate Care Paramedic (PCP-IC), Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP), and Critical Care Paramedic (CCP).

Career opportunities exist across Manitoba in rural, northern and urban settings. Visit the current opportunities page to view job postings or fill out this form to connect with a recruiter.

Application Checklist

Shared Health Emergency Response Services access applications year-round. However, hiring and orientation start dates occur quarterly in February, May, September, and November.

Candidates who apply for a position with Shared Health between these dates will have their application reviewed and will be contacted by a recruiter to discuss an upcoming recruitment cycle and start date.

Before you begin your application, please review the Emergency Response Services Hiring Pre-Requisite Checklist as you will need to provide the listed documentation to be hired by Shared Health ERS.
